An inventory management system built with a React frontend and a Node.js + Express REST API backed by MySQL. It gives small businesses a real-time view of their stock, with dedicated pages for products, stock levels, sales and sales history, plus a dashboard that summarises the key metrics.

#challenge
The core challenge was keeping product quantities and sales records consistent. Every sale had to update stock instantly, and out-of-stock situations needed to be obvious before a sale was recorded.
#solution
I separated the concerns into a clean Express API with dedicated products and sales controllers and routes, backed by a MySQL connection pool. The React frontend talks to the API through a central Axios client, so the stock and sales pages always reflect the same source of truth.

A lightweight system that gives a small business full visibility of what is in stock, what has sold and how sales are trending, without the overhead of a heavy ERP.
